Aquatic Therapy

Aquatic Therapy provides a relaxing and soothing environment for aching joints and muscles. Waters natural resistance is used for muscle strengthening and increasing the progress of rehabilitation. It also allows for flotation and reduces the strain of gravity on injured or aching joints and muscles. 

  • Aquatic Therapy sessions will be directed by a registered physical therapist or a licensed physical therapy assistant. An individualized exercise program will be created according to the unique rehabilitation needs of each patient.

Las Cruces Rehabilitaion is always focused on the health and safety of our patients. We are open 24/7 oncall for Home Health and Hospice.

Home Care

Home Health is care provided in the home by one or multiple skilled professionals.

These professionals could consist of a nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist or a social worker who meet, discuss and work together as a team to treat an illness or injury with the goal of keeping the patient out of the hospital, regaining their independence and becoming as  self-sufficient as possible.

At Las Cruces Comprehensive Rehab and Home Care we offer a unique type of service. Our focus is on continuity of care. Once admitted into our home care program you will be followed by a Registered Nurse or Physical Therapist who work in the outpatient clinic as well as in the home. This allows them to be fully aware of your needs when the time comes to transition from home to the outpatient clinic setting new goals consistent with your progress gained while in the home setting

Temporomandibular Dysfunction

Temporomandibular Dysfunction

A dysfunction that refers to disorders of the Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ), jaw/facial muscles & dental structure. TMJ may also be caused by tension of the cervical and thoracic spine and shoulder muscles aka, Craniomandibular Dysfunction (CMD).

Common Symptoms Include:

  • Pain in facial, neck,
    shoulder muscles.
  • Tenderness, clicking,
    popping, locking of TMJ.
  • Clenching, bruxism
    (grinding) of the jaw.
  • Decreased ROM of the
    neck and jaw.
  • Tinnitus, dizziness
  • Headaches, fatigue,
    anxiety and depression.

Treatment Includes: Determining cause of TMJ/CMD and to treat accordingly. Physical therapy includes a comprehensive evaluation and establishing a treatment plan to improve/restore normal function of the neck and jaw. Treatments include biofeedback/ neuromuscular re-education, relaxation techniques, diaphragmatic breathing, exercises to improve ROM & strength, jaw stabilization, manual therapy (STM, MFR, TP) and joint mobilization. Posture & ergonomic training and oral habit awareness to reduce clenching & grinding habits.
